Enlisted September 1942. 

Aviation Cadet June 1943 

Attended CTD at Susquehanna University in Pennsylvania.   

Pre-Flight:  Montgomery, Georgia

Primary Flight:  Avon Park, Florida, PT-17,

Stearman Basic Flight:  Macon, Georgia, Vulti-Vibrater  

Advanced Flying School:  Napier Field, Alabama,

AT-6 First Fighter P40 at Napier

RTU at Harris Neck, Georgia Flying P-40’s advancing to P-51D’s at Sarasota, Florida

Flew to Karachi, India, then to Kunming, China. 

Assigned to 23rd FTR Group at Luliang, then to 74th FTR Squadron at Tushan,Liuchow, Hangchow,

Shanghai and home on the 1st boat out of China.  The U.S.S. Alderman.  

Stayed in service for 23 years. 

Was in Korean War 1952 to 1953
